Supporting our clients through the crisis. This is a remote position with hybrid in-office options. The Claims Examiner will be a key member of the National Insurance Solutions team. Reporting to our Claims Manager, you will collaborate with partners and clients to resolve property and casualty claims.

  • Review and interpret policy wordings and parameters to determine if coverage is in force and triggered by the loss
  • Manage claims settlement process with independent adjusters; providing recommendations and direction for negotiation and settlement within the authority provided by insurers
  • Perform in house adjustment of claims within the authority granted by provincial authorities and insurers Set and maintain accurate loss and expense reserves based upon investigation and/or recommendations; including validating independent adjusters’ or insurers’ reserve calculations and advising of discrepancies
  • Perform business interruption calculations
  • Provide feedback to Underwriters, Risk Management, and Brokerage teams on claims frequency and physical hazards
  • Maintain and action abeyance files and payment schedules Draft and distribute correspondence to insured, insurers, third party claimants, adjusters and other industry members

Specifics:

  • General Insurance Level 1 License required
  • Working towards your CIP or CAIB preferred
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years’ experience working with Claims in the insurance industry
  • Clear professional communication, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of MS products including Word, Excel, Outlook
