Job Description / Duties

RESPONSIBILITIES 
Leads Branch Managers and employees in multiple offices, providing oversight across the respective region. 
Reviews and monitors key performance metrics on a regular basis, implements actions to address deficiencies and enhance successes. 
Works with Branch Managers to develop and implement branch sales activities. 
Directs performance leadership for Branch Managers, participates in enhancing the coaching and sales culture in the region. 
Ensures the ongoing development of employees; team and individual goals are set, coaching and feedback is being provided consistently and Branch Managers are identifying career development opportunities based on interests and strengths. 
Convenes and leads regular meetings with Branch Managers to cascade key information and ensure initiatives are implemented effectively. 
Responsible for the recruitment and development of Branch Managers, works towards having a pipeline of talent for vacancies and succession planning both internally and externally. 
Works closely with People & Performance and Branch Managers on recruitment within branches. Provides Branch Managers coaching on managing attraction, recruitment, retention and engagement strategies. 
Responsible for profitability within respective region by ensuring sales targets are met, teams are effectively managing salary budgets and forecasting of resourcing requirements. 
Travels throughout respective region to ensure increased presence in the branches and communities. 
Supports special projects and key initiatives as directed by the Director, Retail Sales. 
Assists other Regional Sales Managers with branch coverage as required. 
Maintain a high level of current industry knowledge and actively participate in professional associations related to insurance, staying at the forefront of the profession.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Reporting to: VP, Personal Insurance Prairies (SK & MB) 
Direct Reports: Branch Managers 
Interacting with: Senior Leadership Team; MPI Representatives; Insurance Advisors; People & Performance; Marketing; IT; Accounting  
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS  
Post-secondary education in Business Administration or other related field preferred 
Fully licensed with CAIB (Level 3) designation, CIP designation preferred 
At least 3 years’ management / leadership experience 
Demonstrated effective leadership within the insurance industry applied in a proactive sales and service environment 
Proven results in developing, coaching and leading a team 
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in the insurance industry and the ability to differentiate Westland in the marketplace 
Demonstrated ability to exceed business results and inspire teams to perform within an extremely competitive environment 
Demonstrated ability to execute tactical plans that link to the operating and strategic plans of the business 
High level of personal and professional integrity with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills 
Willingness to travel as required
