Ryan Matthews

Ryan Matthews is the President & CEO of HUB Prairies, one of 5 regional HUBs in Canada responsible for the insurance operations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.  Ryan and his Executive Leadership Team are responsible for driving positive organic growth throughout the region, nurturing partnerships within the insurance industry both with carrier partners and potential future HUB brokerages through M&A activity. This also includes a focus to develop and nurture a producer and account management team that is best in class as well as enhance a branch network in both urban and rural communities that offers all lines of insurance coverage to our clients. Ryan maintains his CAIB designation, Life Insurance License and Family Enterprise Advisory (FEA) Designation in addition to his BA from the University of Manitoba.  In addition to his responsibilities with the Board of the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba, Ryan was added to the Board of the Insurance Council of Manitoba in 2023.

Ryan began his insurance career in 2007 as a life and employee benefits broker. Ryan joined HUB through the acquisition of Horizon Insurance in 2011 at which time he was the practice leader for the Life and Employee Benefits division.  In 2013, he joined the Executive Team as Chief Sales Officer responsible for driving positive organic growth in all lines of business.  From 2013 to the end of 2023, HUB Prairies enhanced every key financial measure across the Prairie region while continuing to reinvest in the business and the numerous communities we serve.  Ryan became President of HUB Prairies in September 2022.

Ryan lives in Winnipeg with his wife Tracey, a teacher and their two daughters, Tressa and Isla.  With two active teenage children, Ryan is more likely to be found at the dance studio or hockey rink than the golf course!
