Job Description / Duties

Business Development Manager

As Business Development Manager, you will drive new multi-line business by creating and maintaining provincial and national partnerships with corporate clients. In this role you will work closely with multiple areas of the business to develop tactical sales plans and deliver on organizational goals.



Here is what a typical day looks like

Building and nurturing internal and external business partnerships to maximize distribution channels success
Leading the development of new markets and products/programs
Generating, identifying, and qualifying new business leads from both existing and newly sourced relationships
Creating a functioning sales funnel though prospecting association and buying group relationships
Representing Western at networking and industry events
Developing new business programs and white label products in partnership with our National Insurance Operations teams
Monitoring and maintaining progress of sales pipelines
Designing and presenting proposals and presentations to associations and buying groups on Western’s in-house programs and product’s value proposition
Creating new business agreements to support formalized relationships with associations and buying groups
Negotiating business terms with association and buying group partners
Effecting transformation and adaptation of Western’s strategic goals as they relate to key areas of Insurance Operations and support the positive communication of Western’s mission and vision

Qualifications / Required Skills

The value you bring

Level 2 General Insurance, CAIB & RIBO or LLQP preferred
Experience building solid & mutually beneficial relationships with associations, franchisors, retailors, municipalities, etc.
Exceptional presentation skills, with experience presenting to c-suite and senior leaders
Multi-line Insurance knowledge required
Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to make sound decisions with a national perspective

Additional Information

Hours: Full Time, Permanent – 37.5 hours/week

Location: Remote/Hybrid options available, however Winnipeg MB or Kitchener, ON preferred. Some travel across Canada to client sites will be required.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $102,000
