2024 Canada Post Strike Information

Canada Post announced it intends to begin a national strike on Friday, November 15 at 12:01 a.m. ET.

To stay up to date on current news, please see the Canada Post website:

Canada Post Website

How this may impact you:

According to the Canada Post website "Customers will experience delays due to the strike activity. Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over."

Ways to mitigate some of the disruption:

Pay for your insurance policies online or at your brokerage to avoid late payments.

This can include asking about e-transfer options or paying online with your financial institution.

Email or phone your broker with questions on your policy.

Emailing or phoning your broker are great ways to stay in contact and get fast responses.

Consider using courier services other than Canada Post.

Try to find alternative mail carriers to deliver needed documents to your brokerage office, or take them in person when possible.

Some potential alternative options include:

  • FedEx
  • Purolator
  • UPS
  • DHL
  • etc.
