Job Description / Duties
Position Summary:
The Administrator position provides a superior client experience by answering telephone
enquiries, and promoting products and services of Interlake Insurance, while providing
administrative support to the Auto, Personal and Commercial lines staff.
Key Responsibilities:
General office duties such as answering telephones providing basic information on
products and services, word processing, filing, daily banking, and mail processing
Refer clients, in person or via telephone, to appropriate staff members and
departments as necessary
Responsible for client problems and resolutions wherever possible, referring more
complex issues to the appropriate supervisor/manager
Clerical support to Insurance Brokerage Administrative staff
Solicit new clients and foster business development through service excellence,
product knowledge, and teamwork
Data entry and account reconciliation on the company in house software – The
Broker Workstation
Process all required reports and documentation efficiently and accurately ensuring
deadlines are met
Maintain open communication and cooperation with other staff to ensure a friendly
and efficient work environment
Any other necessary tasks that may be required, and that have been deemed
reasonable for an employee of the Insurance & Real Estate Agency.
Business Development:
Community involvement – participate, volunteer, sponsor
Represent Interlake Agencies competencies in all public interactions
Qualifications / Required Skills
Essential Qualifications:
Completed Level I Insurance Broker Licence
Basic accounting knowledge
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Business Administration or other post-secondary education considered an asset
Previous customer service experience
Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner
Ability to identify and act upon sales and service opportunities
Basic understanding of Broker Management System (TBW)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
Ability to prioritize using sound judgement to make timely and effective decisions
Knowledge of insurance products and services
Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures
Knowledge of risk management within the insurance industry
Proficient computer skills
