POSITION SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Director, Rewards and Development and guided by the VP, Insurance, the Development Specialist role will support the Insurance organization by developing and facilitating (zoom and in person) training modules for front line Auto and Personal Lines staff.  The role will be an active participant on the Policy and Procedure committee, ensuring training material mirrors current procedures and best practices.  If required, the role may be asked to provide in-branch front line support.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

The role will leverage internally developed classroom / e-learning modules, as well facilitating 3rd party development offerings in order to strengthen the skillset of the Insurance staff.  These will occur through the following:
  • Role specific e-learning and classroom modules developed by the Development Specialist:
    • EPIC business software training programs for new and existing staff
    • Auto Insurance and Personal Lines training program, complimenting the existing programs offered by MPI, IBAM and external 3rd party Brokers
  • Develop an e-learning module that compliments the business operating software program (EPIC) and Applied University
  • Participant in the Insurance policy and procedure meetings ensuring all training material aligns with policy and procedures
  • Provide critical front-line support to assist branches during periods of crisis

 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

Grade 12 or equivalent

Strong understanding of the current business operating software (EPIC)

Strong understanding of Auto and Personal Lines processes and procedures

Minimum level 2 or 3 Insurance licence

Experience in or knowledge of designing and facilitating training programs (would be an asset)
