Senior Claims Professional

Location: remote with occasional in-office

About this Opportunity:
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations you will provide a value-added service to customers as well as our insurance advisors ensuring that customer claims are handled with care and professionalism. This position (in conjunction with fellow claims team members) is responsible for communication with customers on all claims as well as ensuring that proper claim data is entered into our broker management system. You are also responsible for maintaining insurance company relationships, assisting on Errors & Omission claims, and identifying any trends/patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary contact on all commercial and farm related claims that arise.
• Ensure that all applicable details of a loss are submitted to the insurance company at the time a loss is reported.
• Connect with customers, adjusters, and insurance company claims department as necessary throughout the duration of a claim.
• Detail documentation of all claims in our broker management system (BMS), including all correspondence, contact information, reserves, payouts, and closing of the claim.
• Mitigate potential difficult situations by working with the client and adjuster to make sure timelines are observed and followed, response times are reasonable, and that the customer receives fair treatment with respect to the settlement of their claim.
• Follow up with the customer after a claim has concluded to gather feedback.
• Assist on E&O claims with VP, Operations and/or Executive Team.
o This includes reviewing files, communicating with adjusters/lawyers, gathering data from attachments/activities, etc.
• Develop and maintain relationships with company adjusters/claim managers, third party adjusters, and restoration companies.

Qualifications / Required Skills

deal Skills & Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
• 3+ years of experience specifically working on large commercial insurance or large farm insurance policies and/or claims.
• Level 2 insurance license is required. Level 3 insurance license is preferred.
• Experience using Epic, or other insurance software and various insurance portals is a must.
• Strong demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Ex: Word, Excel, Outlook) and a general proficiency with computers
• Must have a Manitoba Driver’s License and ability to travel to all ONE Insurance locations when required.
• Organized and efficient with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• Flexibility and a positive team player approach with effective communication skills
