Like many others, I found my way into the insurance industry somewhat unexpectedly. At 26, after spending a decade working in the construction industry for my uncle’s business, I read a book while in university that encouraged broadening your skill set—especially in sales. Inspired, I applied for various sales roles on Indeed and landed a position at Western Financial Group as a Commercial Sales Representative. It turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life as it was an incredible learning experience that allowed me to grow my knowledge, develop my skillset, and meet a wide range of people in a variety of different fields.
Eventually, I transitioned to APEX Surety & Insurance, where I currently work alongside a team of seasoned professionals from global brokerages. This role has enabled me to focus on risk management, surety, and complex insurance solutions for contractors, manufacturers, and large real estate holders.
Outside of work, I’m a proud father to two boys, George and Theodore, and a husband to my amazing wife, Alyssa. I feel incredibly fortunate to have a career that provides both professional fulfillment and the ability to spend quality time with my family—something I might not have had if I’d stayed in the trades.
I also maintain ties to the construction industry through a business I co-run with my brother. Our company keeps me actively engaged with the local building scene and allows me to stay grounded in the industry where my career first began.
